Deirdre (DD) Davis
It’s been said that Deirdre has a southern soul with an urban flair. Baltimore and Philadelphia are cities where she spent her formative years, while spending the summers in rural Virginia. Deirdre is a Preacher’s Kid (PK) from a long family line of preachers, educators, and public servants. In Deirdre’s world, faith and academics go hand in hand.
Deirdre hails from the renowned HBCU, Morgan State University, with a Bachelors’ degree in International Studies. She continued her international interest by obtaining a Master of Arts degree in International Affairs from The American University’s School of International Service and has more than 25 years in public service. Deirdre’s faith requires giving back and her passion to inspire others led her to mentor many, both formally and informally.
Deirdre currently lives in the Washington, DC area. She is a mother to two teenage boys who are phenomenal scholars and athletes. Spending time with her sons, family and friends is her joy. Her passion in raising her own sons, led her to share her experiences with other women, particularly working mothers, managing the challenges of career-life, motherhood, and family matters.
Deirdre is well-traveled, having been to more than 30 countries. She loves touring new cities, taking beach getaways, listening to all types of music, enjoying concerts, watching NFL football, and writing.
